Software Applications Specialist - November 2008

Job Description Eperformance implements and manages web software applications for our government clients.  We are looking for a skilled and motivated individual to participate in the support, analysis & quality assurance of our software applications.  In this role the candidate will provide service to our clients to ensure the effective operation and use of software applications. Duties may include:
  • Provides on-going support and training for users
  • Researches system in order to increase data efficiency and retrieval
  • Provides data reports for trending analysis studies
  • Lead teams in troubleshooting and resolving application issues
  • Perform planning, coordinating, testing and installation of new updates/releases.
  • Perform file extracts and queries when required to support an application or application interface
  • Understands client processes for the management of the government granting service cycle
  • Ensure application service level commitments are met and that work orders are properly managed
  • Establish backup and recovery policies and procedures
Required QualificationsThe ideal candidate must have:
  • 2 years experience in web application support
  • 2 years experience with Microsoft software applications
  • 1 year experience in software quality assurance including testing
  • Good people skills
  • Degree or diploma in Business or,  Management Information Systems, or equivalent
It is desirable that the candidate could also have:
  • Experience with Microsoft CRM software
  • Experience in delivering facilitated or web based training courses
  • Experience in data analysis or report development
  • Domain experience in government granting  or risk management services

Project Background

The Virtual Risk Officer™ (VRO™) is a risk management system in its infancy. It aims to provide risk and grant management officers with the tools to conduct their day to day activities. It also seeks to fulfill the planning and reporting needs of senior management. We are looking for a skilled individual to participate in the analysis & design of the VRO™, and to further develop the system using Microsoft Technologies (ASP.Net, C#, MOSS, IIS, and MSSQL) and ORACLE database.

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate must have:

  • 1 year experience in analysis & design of web applications
  • 2 years experience in web application development
  • 2 years experience with ASP.Net 2.0, C#, IIS
  • 1 year experience developing applications for MS SQL or ORACLE
  • Fluent in English or French
  • Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent

The ideal candidate could also have:

  • Some exposure to MOSS or Share Point 2003
  • Some exposure to .NET 3.5
  • 2 years experience in data modelling
  • Some experience building install shield packages
  • Some domain experience in G&Cs or Risk Management
  • Some exposure to SVN
